Generation not completing
What to do when an AI generation step hangs, times out, or produces empty output.
Common causes
Network timeout
Generations can take 60–120 seconds for complex projects. If the spinner has run for over 3 minutes, refresh and re-trigger.
Insufficient wizard context
If your Idea field is under 100 characters, Nova may produce empty output. Add more detail and regenerate.
AI provider outage
Plan My SaaS uses OpenAI and Anthropic. Check status.planmysaas.com for real-time provider status.
Rate limit
If you've run many generations quickly you may hit rate limits. Wait a few minutes then retry.
Free trial limit
Free trial accounts have a 5-generation limit. Upgrade or contact support for an extension.
Step-by-step fix
Check generation status
Look for the spinning loader next to the section name in the sidebar. If it's been running for more than 3 minutes the generation has likely timed out.
Refresh the page
A browser refresh stops the pending request. Partial output (if any) may still be saved. Navigate back to the section to check.
Retry the generation
Click Generate again on the failed section. In most cases a simple retry resolves the issue.
Try a different section first
If Architecture fails repeatedly, try running Research first. Some pipeline stages need their predecessor to be complete.

If retrying 3 times doesn't work, email support@planmysaas.com with your project ID. We'll investigate within 2 hours.
On slow connections, run stages individually (Research → Architecture → Features) rather than using Generate All for best reliability.
